Gustavo Alcázar
Gustavo Alcázar finished his Master of Arts at the University Mozarteum, Salzburg (Austria) in the Class of Univ. Prof. Eliot Fisk (Assistants Kostas Tosidis/Cecilio Perera). Also he completed his Master’s Degree in Music Research at the Valencian International University (VIU).
With various national and international awards on his record, Gustavo Alcázar has played on stages with chamber ensembles and solo in Colombia, Spain, France, Germany, Holland and Austria.
He has received Masterclasses from teachers such as: Eliot Fisk, Joaquín Clerch, Leo Brouwer, Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, Pavel Steidl, Álex Garrobé, Marco Socías, Alberto Ponce, Pepe Romero, Pablo Márquez, Roberto Aussel and Juan Carlos Rivera among others. In addition, he has taken part in magisterial councils of Don Serafín Arriaza Brenes and Doña América Martínez.
He completed advanced studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany with Maestro Joaquín Clerch and Early Music with Maestro Anthony Spiri. In 2016 and 2017 he attended the Sommerakademie at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria under the tutelage of Master Eliot Fisk and Master Zaira Meneses.
He studied with Humberto Franco in Colombia and later in Spain at the Andrés Segovia Conservatories of Dos Hermanas Prof. Miguel Ángel Acosta; Cristóbal de Morales Prof. José María Pichardo and Superior of Music Manuel Castillo de Sevilla Prof. Francisco Sánchez Cantón and Antonio Duro; graduating with A's at the final degree concert.
During his career he won several awards namely the First Prize in the América Martínez National Guitar Competition in Seville; First Prize in the IV National Guitar Competition Ciudad de Alcalá-Alcalá la Real, Jaén. Furthermore, he was a semifinalist in the Julián Arcas de Almería International Guitar Competition and a finalist in the XX City of Vélez-Málaga Vélez-Málaga International Guitar Competition.
In 2021 realeased his first CD: Homenaje a Tárrega, dedicated to the Spanish composer Francisco Tárrega.
